Digging Wells That Won’t Hold Water!

My people have… dug… cisterns… that cannot hold water.

Do you feel like there’s something missing in your life? Are you running from place to place and person to person trying to find it? Until you put God at the centre of your life, you’ll keep digging ‘cisterns… that cannot hold water.’

We all want to be loved and feel successful, so we look to our jobs or to others for a sense of fulfillment. But by expecting a person or a pay cheque to do what only God can, we keep coming up short. ‘Cursed is the… one who depends on mere humans… he’s like a tumbleweed… rootless and aimless… But blessed is the man who trusts… God… They’re like trees… putting down roots near… rivers… calm through droughts, bearing… fruit every season’ (Jeremiah 17:5-8 TM). Fulfillment doesn’t come from having ‘the right people’ in your life, or more money, prestige and accomplishments. A larger house won’t do it; you’ll just have more to clean. The latest car won’t do it; you’ll just end up with bigger payments. A job promotion won’t do it; you’ll just have more stress and longer hours. Yes, you’ll make more money, but after taxes and buying what you need to maintain your new image, you’ll be back to square one. At the end of a lifetime spent ’striving after [the] wind… ‘ (Ecclesiastes 2:11 NAS). Solomon said, ‘Everything… can be put into a few words: Respect and obey [honour and put your trust in] God! This is what life is all about’ (Ecclesiastes 12:13 CEV). The One you’re looking for today has been there all along, and He’s ready to meet you at the point of your need. You just have to invite Him in!

Overcoming Your Fear of People

Be not afraid of their faces…

Jeremiah 1:8 KJV

Do you avoid certain activities and social occasions because of insecurity? If so, you might have ’social phobia,’ the fear of being inadequate, embarrassed or negatively evaluated. Some of us even experience panic attacks that leave us immobilised to the point of dysfunction. Yet it’s avoiding such situations rather than facing them, that allows our fears to control us. How great our fear becomes depends on what we say to ourselves when it hits. And what we say to ourselves is largely a function of what psychologists call our ’sub-personality type.’ Here are some common sub-personality types, and ways we can handle them:

‘The Worrier.’ Worriers anticipate the worst, create grandiose images of potential tragedy, and are always hyper-vigilant for any small signs of trouble. Their favourite self-talk expression is, ‘But what if… ?’ Learn to replace your worrier self-talk with, ‘So, what if… By God’s grace I can learn to handle this. I can feel anxious and still do it. I don’t like it, but I can stand it until it passes. I’ll get used to it with practice and God’s help.’ When Jeremiah’s fears kicked in and he wanted to run from a public speaking assignment, God said to him: ‘you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you… ‘ (Jeremiah 1:7-8 NLT). Instead of running from it, choose to face it in faith; and watch how God will get you through it!

Thanksgiving

It’s almost here time to enjoy family and friends we don’t see often,and it will be a blast for sure as usual.Of course we give God praise and thanks everyday,or we should after all it is God that gives us life,health and strength and so many other wonderful blessings.I hope you enjoy your family and friends and that good turkey umm!! You Cannot Save Yourself

Not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.

Ephesians 2:8 NKJV

When a lifeguard is trying to save you, it’s a mistake to try and assist him. At first this might not seem like a problem; after all, we usually encourage people to help themselves. But when you’re flailing around in deep water you tire easily and sink faster; you also drag others down with you. That’s why a lifeguard will tell you to stop struggling and trust him. Understand this: God doesn’t need your help to save you!

The Bible says, ‘He took our sin… and made us alive in Christ. He did… this on his own, with no help from us… All we do is trust him… It’s God’s gift from start to finish! We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d go… around bragging that we’d done the whole thing!’ (Ephesians 2:4-9 TM). When Nicodemus came to talk to Jesus about salvation, he thought Jesus would tell him to abide by certain religious doctrines and exercises. What this prominent religious leader failed to grasp, is the all-encompassing nature of salvation; that we can’t earn God’s acceptance. He’s not impressed with our good works; in His eyes ‘our best efforts are grease-stained rags… ‘ (Isaiah 64:6 TM). There’s a humbling thought! Robert Lowry wrote: ‘Nothing can for sin atone; nothing but the blood of Jesus. Naught of good that I have done; nothing but the blood of Jesus. Oh precious is the flow, that makes me white as snow. No other fount I know; nothing but the blood of Jesus.’ Paul writes: ‘God['s]… grace… is a free gift… ‘ (Romans 3:24 NCV), and He’s offering it to you today. Will you accept it?

“Resting”

With God all things are possible,so why do we worry.I think it’s because we have not reached that place of “Rest” in the Lord.Today with so much pressure,pain & suffering we wonder how can we rest. But God’s word is the truth so we must first believe then trust God,for after all God knows everything and see’s everything. There is a place in Christ where we can be calm in the storms,Jesus is our example and he gives us a clear picture,really more than one lol,just as Mark 4:35~38 shows us that Jesus did not get upset in the storm. Jesus trusted God and we must also trust God to enter that place of marvelous rest.I tell ya, now my trials & tribulations don’t beat me up as bad as they use to,”whew” for awhile I thought I would surely faint.But God has brought growth in my life and more peace ,and that’s what our trials & tribulations do bring growth and peace. That’s where the all things work together for our good comes in. God does watch over his word and he will do above and beyond what he has promised! I thank God for his great faithfulness! In order to get into God’s rest we must believe that he is God and keep our eyes on Jesus,(Hebrews 12:2,3 )Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus,on whom our faith depends from beginning to end.He did not give up because of the cross! On the contrary,because of the joy that was waiting for him,he thought nothing of the disgrace of dying on the cross,and is now seated on the right hand of God’s throne.Think of what he went through,how he put up with so much hatred from sinful men! So do not let yourselves become discouraged and give up.

No on the contrary we should think about Jesus and encourage ourselves,knowing that we win! God is faithful and his love for us never changes!

A Love Like No Other

This is my 1 year Anniversary and I give God all of the praise and glory for helping me,it was a rough start but I’ve learned a lot and I do enjoy Blogging.I thank God for all of my followers and for others that stop through,you do really Brighten my day.

Jesus is the only one that loves you as you are,and will accept you as you are,and can change you into someone you never thought you would be.Jesus can change your heart in an instant from cold and hard to love and tenderness.Jesus can change the way you feel about yourself and others for He alone can forgive all your sins and help you to forgive others.Jesus can take away all the guilt and pain you’re feeling right now,and the shamefulness sin is causing you. And I know because He did “All” that and more way back in 1972 and even now He still forgives me and why?? His Great love overflows and so does His Grace and Mercy!!!! So why not get into a lifelong loving Relationship with Jesus and spend the rest of your days knowing you’ve got an “Anchor” that holds you to never let go!! Just pray this little prayer :Lord Jesus please help me to believe and forgive me for all of my sins,I’m sorry for all of my sins I do believe you died and rose again for me come into my heart and help me live for you. If you prayed that prayer and meant it you are now saved a new life has begun,so now get a good bible(English version) easier to understand start with the book of John,and remember everything will not change over night for you are a baby and you must feed yourself in order to grow.You do that my staying in the word and good teaching tapes(I use T.D.Jakes & Joyce Meyer but there are still so many other good ones to help you.Another thing when troubles come(and they will because you’ve changed sides now) remember you Belong to God and He will “Never” leave you!!!God will always take care of you even when you feel all alone,God is there.

My Annivesary

My one year anniversary is coming up soon and I do thank and praise God for it.When I started Blogging I really didn’t have any idea what I was doing,but I knew I loved to write and share about my walk with my loving Saviour. It’s been a very good year I’ve met a lot of Brother’s & Sister’s while Blog Hopping,there are a lot of good writers out there and I enjoy reading your post. This year has been good and of course with all of my trials & tribulations I still give God all of the praise for the wonderful things he’s doing in me and through me. The original post that I did one year ago will be posted November 1st unless God blesses me with a different word to share. I love encouraging my Brother’s & Sister’s,but I am really reaching out to the unsaved and hoping that God will use me and you to help them come to Jesus. A lot of people don’t realize that when you’re born again you still do sinful things,but now because of God’s grace you have room to grow and become all that Jesus saved you to be. We that are saved are also still growing,still becoming what God wants us to be,we’re not there yet! Jesus is the answer for the world today,but in order to know him you must accept him,for he is a “Great,comforter,healer,lover,restorer,and Jesus forgives you of all sin. I hope you have a wonderful day and just remember you are loved John 3:16~17 For God loved you so much that he gave his Son Jesus Christ,so that everyone who believes in him may not die but will have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to be it’s Judge,but to be it’s Saviour.
