Jeremiah 29:4~7 ,11      4 This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says to all the captives he has exiled to Babylon from Jerusalem: 5 “Build homes, and plan to stay. Plant gardens, and eat the food they produce. 6 Marry and have children. Then find spouses for them so that you may have many grandchildren. Multiply! Do not dwindle away!7 And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.”

We are only here on planet earth for a season, and only God knows the time. But while we wait we should recognize and respect God,pray for our country and leaders that they will humble themselves before Almighty God.The children of Israel  had been very disobedient, and took the words of God for granted. They thought like some people do today, how can a good God allow these things to happen? Well just like Israel’s  disobedience carries consequences ,so it does for us.  As long as everything is good, they  did as they pleased hardly ever seriously  giving God any kind of recognition  at all.But as soon as disaster struck they ran to God,God wants more from his people than false promises. And God is Holy and deserves our highest respect,at all times. There is so much trouble going on in our world, from Hurricanes to the “Big” oil spill. God is in control and he knows just what it takes to get your attention and get it he will ,and he is being very patient, and God has the right and authority to allow any thing he pleases at any time. It truly is not Gods desire that you perish but that you will come to repentance, and trust Jesus Christ as your Saviour. In the next verses you’ll see that God’s ultimate plans for you are good, good all throughout the Bible, you’ll see where God is calling his people to him, because of his love. But God is also a just God that hates sin.God has prepared a way for us to be pleasing in his sight, right now where we live. And that way is through Jesus Christ.

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you seek after me with your whole heart, you will find me.

It is truly time to seek after God now.

Love in Christ Pat

I am so thankful that our Father has always been a God of choice. He never makes us do anything. He gives us the opportunity to choose to love Him or not… to choose His ways or not… to choose life or death. Every choice we make comes with specific outcomes. As His children we can choose to be a productive part of society (praying for our leaders and doing our part to share God’s love and grace) or we can sit on the sidelines and complain about everything.

I choose to seek Him with my whole heart. In doing so, I believe that my life will glorify Him!

    Love and peace to you!

    Patty Ann,

God does so much to tenderly care for us, even when we’re in the midst of stressful circumstances…. We are so blessed to be assured that God has good plans for us and a future of fulfilled promises.

Good words, Pat. Only I’m not sure in our case about the length of the stay. Looks like getting pretty short at this point. I can not wait to see His face!!

    Love, Cindy
