Love Your Brother

Galatians 6

We Harvest What We Plant

1 Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer[a] is overcome by some sin, you who are godly[b] should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. 2 Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. 3 If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.

4 Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. 5 For we are each responsible for our own conduct.

6 Those who are taught the word of God should provide for their teachers, sharing all good things with them.

7 Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. 8 Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. 9 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. 10 Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.

I’m thinking of Bishop Eddie Long this morning and all they are going through, and the young men that have come out acussing him.But we that are Christians must see the whole picture and not judge as the world does.God tells us through his word what our mind set should be,so before the finger pointing start check this word.Sin is sin and God will not only forgive us but he will restore us those are his benefits to us “Hallelujah”! God does not see us a man does, nor does he judge us as man does and that is a wonderful thing.Remember the world cannot understand how God does things, because they don’t believe in him.God’s forgiveness is great and there is not one thing anyone can do to change God.If you’re coming here to leave nasty comments, just forget it because I know God and he is very merciful to each and everyone of us.
Love in Christ Pat

    Hi Pat,

I don’t know Bishop Long, the first time I heard his name was a recent article in the Wall Street Journal. I think it’s difficult for leaders when allegations about personal conduct are made but given the climate we live in with so many men in clergy accused of sexual misconduct, I believe it’s important that leaders try to avoid the appearance of inappropriate conduct.

This will not eliminate accusations, but it will make them less plausible.

I don’t like to formulate opinions on others, because I know that God has forgiven me of so much. I appreciate the grace that flows from Calvary. That’s what I try to extend to others.

    Blessings and peace.
