1 Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to God, giving voice together,
I’m singing my heart out to God—what a victory!
He pitched horse and rider into the sea.
2 God is my strength, God is my song,
and, yes! God is my salvation.
This is the kind of God I have
and I’m telling the world!
This is the God of my father—
I’m spreading the news far and wide!
3 God is a fighter,
pure God, through and through.
4Pharaoh’s chariots and army he dumped in the sea,
The elite of his officers
he drowned in the Red Sea.(TMB)
God is so awesome! He has control over all that goes on and I am so grateful. God is our great warrior and his protection is constant. These chapters of Exodus are just wonderful and I am so enjoying it,seeing God deliver his people from such terrible bondage. Just gives me so much hope while going through different trials, just knowing that God is stronger, and greater than anything I’m going through keeps my mind and heart in peace. “Hallelujah” Amen!
19 The angel of God that had been leading the camp of Israel now shifted and got behind them. And the Pillar of Cloud that had been in front also shifted to the rear.20 The Cloud was now between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel. The Cloud enshrouded one camp in darkness and flooded the other with light. The two camps didn’t come near each other all night.21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea and God, with a terrific east wind all night long, made the sea go back. He made the sea dry ground. The seawaters split.22 The Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground with the waters a wall to the right and to the left.23 The Egyptians came after them in full pursuit, every horse and chariot and driver of Pharaoh racing into the middle of the sea.24 It was now the morning watch. God looked down from the Pillar of Fire and Cloud on the Egyptian army and threw them into a panic.
25 He clogged the wheels of their chariots; they were stuck in the mud.
The Egyptians said, “Run from Israel! God is fighting on their side and against Egypt!”26 God said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea and the waters will come back over the Egyptians, over their chariots, over their horsemen.”27 Moses stretched his hand out over the sea: As the day broke and the Egyptians were running, the sea returned to its place as before. God dumped the Egyptians in the middle of the sea.28 The waters returned, drowning the chariots and riders of Pharaoh’s army that had chased after Israel into the sea. Not one of them survived.29 But the Israelites walked right through the middle of the sea on dry ground, the waters forming a wall to the right and to the left.30 God delivered Israel that day from the oppression of the Egyptians. “And Israel looked at the Egyptian dead, washed up on the shore of the sea”,31 and realized the tremendous power that God brought against the Egyptians. The people were in reverent awe before God and trusted in God and his servant Moses.
It’s so amazing to me the things God has done,he has proven himself over and over.Encouraging us to keep our faith in him. God is still able to keep and protect us as he did his people many years ago,”Hallelujah”! When God is for you, there are no reasons to be afraid for he will always show up for us. What a time of praise as the Israelites watched their enemies wash upon the shore! That just gives me so much hope, knowing that God is also able to defeat my enemies with his tremendous power. I will not be defeated because God is for me and if you’re born again God is for you. If you haven’t made that choice, let me encourage you to come into relationship with Jesus Christ, our great and true Saviour. God’s Word is true and so very encouraging,I love this true story of God’s rescue of his people.
27-30 A holy man came to Eli and said: “This is God‘s message: I revealed myself openly to your ancestors when they were Pharaoh‘s slaves in Egypt. Out of all the tribes of Israel, I chose your family to be my priests: to preside at the Altar, to burn incense, to wear the priestly robes in my presence. I put your ancestral family in charge of all the sacrificial offerings of Israel. So why do you now treat as mere loot these very sacrificial offerings that I commanded for my worship? Why do you treat your sons better than me, turning them loose to get fat on these offerings, and ignoring me? Therefore—this is God’s word, the God of Israel speaking—I once said that you and your ancestral family would be my priests indefinitely, but now—God’s word, remember!—there is no way this can continue.
I honor those who honor me;
those who scorn me I demean. (Message Bible)
1 Samuel 3
11-14 God said to Samuel, “Listen carefully. I’m getting ready to do something in Israel that is going to shake everyone up and get their attention. The time has come for me to bring down on Eli’s family everything I warned him of, every last word of it. I’m letting him know that the time’s up. I’m bringing judgment on his family for good. He knew what was going on, that his sons were desecrating God’s name and God’s place, and he did nothing to stop them. This is my sentence on the family of Eli: The evil of Eli’s family can never be wiped out by sacrifice or offering.” ( Message Bible)
We should be very clear that God is also a very jealous God and there is no other God beside him.We must remember to always “honor” God. Even the smallest thing is important to God,because he loves us we will receive warnings just like Eli did,but he chose to ignore God. We cannot just treat God any kind of way and think he is okay with it,you may not even sense God’s anger at your disobedience. You can be sure that God is nudging you and doing his best to get your attention, but if you choose to ignore him and continue walking in disobedience. Then get ready for you will suffer the consequences, and what makes it even worse so will your family. God’s Word is true, and sin carries deadly consequences.
God had warned Eli continually that judgment is coming, judgment is coming and yet he refused to listen! God is good, but he will always honor his words to us,so let’s be very sure we are listening, and that we obey his voice. And do remember sin carries it’s own consequences,so don’t say “How can a good God allow this or that”.
