19 I remember my affliction and my wandering,the bitterness and the gall.20 I well remember them,and my soul is downcast within me.21 Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: 22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,for his compassions never fail.23 They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
Yes even though Jeremiah suffered much from carrying God‘s words to his people,he did not give up! And neither can we.The tension and stress is already high with so many people out of work,so many have lost there homes. And now here comes the holidays when we are suppose to be happy and giving those big gifts! What now? It’s plain to see this year is a whole lot different from the good ole days,um hum back then we had it made we didn’t ask anybody for anything. And now if we don’t ask we want make it! I tell ya changes will make or break you. Jeremiah was crying out to God about the people he kept being sent to,Jeremiah knew they were not concerned the least little bit about God’s requirements,are you. God has many ways of getting your attention and he does it because he loves you. God sees the big picture our spiritual needs come first,not that new game boy,nor that new ipad,you get the picture-material things. We get so hung up on stuff until we are just about blind,and what about your soul that lives forever,what about that? God is good and he is still reaching out to you in love,God cares about you and everything that affects you,but his order and ways of doing things are most important. Jeremiah said he remembers his afflictions and wanderings,which is good! we must not forget where God has brought us from,these things builds our faith so that we are well equipped for the next battles. God has truly thought of everything we need here and a relationship with Jesus Christ is still first and foremost in God’s mind and heart.It’s best to seek God early before the tears start flying and you start trying to explain why you want be getting this and that,seek the Lord now. Jeremiah reminds us that God’s faithfulness is great and his benefits are new every morning,but how can you enjoy them if you don’t know Jesus.
Love in Christ Pat
Lamentations 3:25 (N.I.V.)
The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; Matthew Henry‘s Concise Commentary 3:21-36 Having stated his distress and temptation, the prophet shows how he was raised above it. Bad as things are, it is owing to the mercy of God that they are not worse. We should observe what makes for us, as well as what is against us. God’s compassions fail not; of this we have fresh instances every morning. Portions on earth are perishing things, but God is a portion for ever. It is our duty, and will be our comfort and satisfaction, to hope and quietly to wait for the salvation of the Lord. Afflictions do and will work very much for good: many have found it good to bear this yoke in their youth; it has made many humble and serious, and has weaned them from the world, who otherwise would have been proud and unruly. If tribulation work patience, that patience will work experience, and that experience a hope that makes not ashamed. Due thoughts of the evil of sin, and of our own sinfulness, will convince us that it is of the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed. If we cannot say with unwavering voice, The Lord is my portion; may we not say, I desire to have Him for my portion and salvation, and in his word do I hope? Happy shall we be, if we learn to receive affliction as laid upon us by the hand of God. bible.cc/lamentations/3-25.htm

Hi Pat what a wonderful post you have posted, and a good ones to start off the holidays. Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone could only see that they don’t need stuff, all they need is Jesus. The Lord and I will be having a good old time together as we celebrate the day that the people of the world set aside for everyone to celebrate His birthday. Of course nobody truly knows what month or the date that Jesus was really born in. Enjoyed you write my friend. Love Vi
Hello Vi,so good of you to stop in and leave me such an encouraging comment,yep me and Jesus will be celebrating together again.I’m so sick of the whole way the world does it,for many years I felt bad because I could not compete with all of the big gift givers. It’s not as bad now and I thank God for that,I hope your week is good and your body feels better too.
