Usually we only quote and share Jeremiah 29:11 but I want to call your attention to Jeremiah 29:1~10 God is encouraging his people to settle down let your sons and daughters get married build your homes plant your gardens work for the peace and prosperity of the city, In other words get comfortable for you will be here for awhile! In the midst of our hard places we want out as soon as possible but God’s timing is so different from ours. God also told them to pray and so should we while waiting on God’s time to be fulfilled, it’s so hard to be still while waiting on God we feel we must be doing something but most of the time what we do is make a mess!
We also feel like God has forgotten us but that is never going to happen He loves us to much! For then comes the reassuring promise of Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Yes His plans for us are greater than what we’re going through right now so be still and let God do what He has planned the end results will be wonderful.
It carries different meanings, for some the harvest time will be cruelty
Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you. 2 Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. 3 Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days .James 5
Walking around thinking you’re more than others because of your wealth and treating others any kind of way is not pleasing to God! You should be crying out to God for His mercy before your days of sadness come because they surely will God’s word is the truth. Listen to God’s word
4 Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. 5 You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter. 6 You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing you. James 5
Because God hears the cries of those being mistreated and He sees the ones who are doing this He will step in for them God will not let your unrighteous ways continue to cause much pain and suffering He cannot because He is faithful to His word forever. We should praise and thank God for hearing us as we cry out to Him and for answering our prayers He is worthy at all times.
Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
God is very merciful and He will forgive you but you must call on His name seek after Him.
I can only imagine oh Lord that day in the garden when You went alone to pray.
I can only imagine the things that pressed You down and weighed so heavy upon You .
I know You could see us rejecting your Father ,I know You could see us lying and stealing and cheating treating others You love so much wrong.
I know You could see us hating each other as You toiled in prayer .I know You could see us as we all strayed .I know You could see the children being dragged away just as they started to play. I know You felt the pain as Mother’s cried again and again why,why did my child have to die.
I know You could hear the lies we often tell making promises we cannot keep.
I know You see us crying out for peace yet we fail to fall down at your feet.
I know You can see us being hated because of the color of our skin,we fail to see we’re all kin because from Adam and Eve we did come.
In the garden late that night all of these things pressed You inside and out! I know You could see the violence that’s going on in our world today, and then to our Father You had to say not my will but yours I will obey. They need me Dear Father ,they need me each day so for their sins this price I will pay.
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,
I Peter 3:18 NKJV
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
II Corinthians 5:21 NKJV
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
