Presecutions

John 5:35

John was like a lamp, burning and shining , and you were  willing for awhile to enjoy his light.

Yes but how quickly the excitement can wear off especially when it comes to the truth about our Saviours teachings. John was the forerunner presenting Jesus to the people(Jews) and at first they were clamoring to hear John. Most were trying to figure him out, much like today when we witness to others ,they’re trying to figure us out.Trying to see if we stand up to what they think a Christian should be,and just what we should be doing. It’s quiet funny really, how can you figure out what a Christian should or shouldn’t do,when you’ve never been one. John keep right on preaching about Jesus and while he was teaching and preaching out in the wilderness it’s okay, but don’t bring your teachings any closer. Don’t come near the good town folks because they’re not having any of it,especially when it goes against all they’ve been taught down through the years. Even though the teachings are wrong and will not bring forgiveness or salvation the fight goes on. Just as soon as John started to run into man-made traditions,He had a real problem. Then the good town folk turned against Him and began to persecute Him. And if we think we will be treated any better we’re in for a real surprise, for Jesus said    Matthew 10:16

16 “Look, I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. So be as shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves. 17 But beware! For you will be handed over to the courts and will be flogged with whips in the synagogues. 18 You will stand trial before governors and kings because you are my followers. But this will be your opportunity to tell the rulers and other unbelievers about me.19 When you are arrested, don’t worry about how to respond or what to say. God will give you the right words at the right time. 20 For it is not you who will be speaking—it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

We have no idea yet how much we will suffer because we belong to Jesus, but He surely has given us many promises to hold onto while we’re going through. As we get into God’s word we learn of the many different trials and tribulations our ancestors went through victoriously and this  should give us hope and strengthen our faith.

Matthew 10:24 “No pupil is greater than his teacher;no slave is greater than his master,in other words if Jesus had to suffer what about us. Jesus humbled himself to please  His Heavenly Father and so must we. We are looking forward to great joys, stand strong, our God is more than able to keep us and help us through.

Mark 15

1 Early the next morning the chief priests, the nation’s leaders, and the teachers of the Law of Moses met together with the whole Jewish council. They tied up Jesus and led him off to Pilate.

2 He asked Jesus, “Are you the king of the Jews?”
“Those are your words,” Jesus answered.

3 The chief priests brought many charges against Jesus. 4 Then Pilate questioned him again, “Don’t you have anything to say? Don’t you hear what crimes they say you have done?” 5 But Jesus did not answer, and Pilate was amazed.(CEV)

Jesus was accused of many things, but guilty of none.

Mark 15

16  The soldiers led Jesus inside the courtyard of the fortress and called together the rest of the troops. 17 They put a purple robe on him, and on his head they placed a crown that they had made out of thorn branches. 18 They made fun of Jesus and shouted, “Hey, you king of the Jews!” 19 Then they beat him on the head with a stick. They spit on him and knelt down and pretended to worship him.(CEV)

Mocked and treated as a no body,Jesus my precious Saviour.

Mark 16

5  The women went into the tomb, and on the right side they saw a young man in a white robe sitting there. They were alarmed.

6  The man said, “Don’t be alarmed! You are looking for Jesus from Nazareth, who was nailed to a cross. God has raised him to life, and he isn’t here. You can see the place where they put his body. 7 Now go and tell his disciples, and especially Peter, that he will go ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you.” (CEV)

“Hallelujah” Jesus lives and he not only remembered Peter but each and every one of us was in his heart and on his mind, what an “awesome” Saviour Jesus is.

“CELEBRATE JESUS”!
